Alba de Silvestro

Biography

Born on October 3, 1995 in Padola, a small town in the Dolomites, Alba De Silvestro grew up with snow under her feet and mountains in front of her. Her sporting roots lie in alpine skiing and mountain running – ideal foundations for switching to ski mountaineering in 2011. Today, she is one of the strongest ski mountaineers of her generation. With technical precision, impressive endurance and mental strength, Alba impresses on every route – whether in steep terrain, during fast ascents or challenging descents. Her motivation: never give up, always keep going.

Biggest Dream: My biggest sporting dream and goal has always been to win an individual race at the World Championships. I’ve been working towards this for years. But another big dream is now also to take part in the mixed relay at the Olympic Games in my own country. It would be incredible to achieve something special at the Olympic premiere of Ski Mountaineering.

What inspires you: I don’t know exactly where my inspiration comes from – there are so many things that motivate me to do what I do. First of all, I love skiing and racing above all else. I love pushing myself to the limit, competing with others and improving year after year. There are always new goals and motivations, such as the Olympic Games.

Favourite Summit: My favorite peak, or at least the one I’ve spent the most time on, is definitely the Cima Meriggio. But there are so many other mountains that I love, and even more that I want to climb.
