Winter 2026 is just around the corner, and with that a series of exciting skimo events that athletes should have marked red on their race calendars. At DYNAFIT, racing is in our DNA and therefore we are once again proudly sponsoring some of the most exciting races of the season. The focus is on our 4 key races, which are the Jennerstier, Vertical Up, Sellaronda Skimarathon and, as the pinnacle of the season, the Patrouille des Glaciers. These events are all super special to us, since they impressively reflect the broad fascination of everyday athletes for ski mountaineering racing!
Jennerstier
One of the first competitive spectacles of the season, sponsored by DYNAFIT, will await athletes on the second weekend in February in Berchtesgaden. Backed by the brand, the 20th annual “Jennerstier” (Beast of Jenner) will be crowned. This race takes place on the edge of the only German Alpine national park – Berchtesgaden National Park – and is the oldest and most demanding ski race in Germany. Around 600 athletes can show off their skills in 3 disciplines: Vertical, Individual & Mixed Relay!

Streif Vertical Up
In February 2026 the famous “Streif” in Kitzbühel (AUT) – one of the most difficult alpine ski tracks in the world – transforms into a stage for the Vertical Up. With a distance of 3.3 kilometers and a gradient up to 85 percent, it boasts 860 meters of elevation gain. The special feature at this race: No matter if you are on touring skis, snowshoes, or spiked running shoes - just get to the top as fast as possible. Even the line taken on the piste is up to each participant. The fastest athletes complete this steep “wall” in only 30 minutes!

Sellaronda Skimarathon
Every once a year this legendary team night race attracts 1.300 participants from all over the world to #speedup around the famous Sella massif in the Italian Dolomites. At this adrenalin-filled on-piste event athletes must complete 42 kilometers with a total of 2.700 meters of elevation gain. The spectacular course crosses 4 mountain passes and winds through the most beautiful villages of the region. To succeed, athletes must show a great portion of team spirit and outstanding physical capabilities!

Patrouille des Glaciers
The PDG is one of the world’s most demanding ski mountaineering races, originally created by the Swiss Army in 1943. The challenging course between Zermatt and Verbier pushes both elite athletes and amateurs to their limits with extreme altitudes and demanding terrain. This legendary race continues its tradition while adding new elements like a dedicated women’s category and a stronger focus on sustainability.

Pierra Menta: 13–15 February 2026, the Pierra Menta has evolved over the last 39 years to become the benchmark ski mountaineering competition and a must for every athlete. Each year, it brings together over 200 teams of two skiers for an especially challenging and exciting race. To website
Olympic Games: 19-22 February 2026, Skimo will debut as part of the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, with the sprint and mixed relay events taking place in Bormio. This event in Bormio marks a significant milestone for the sport, officially celebrating its Olympic premiere and introducing it to a global audience. To blogpost
