The DYNAFIT event dedicated to the snow leopardesses moves ahead to the next phase:
Out of the 800 ladies of the peaks and lovers of speed that signed up, just 8 athletes will have the chance to scale the 3677 meters that lead up to the summit of the Großvenediger:

Manuela Neureiter from Austria
Romina Maier from Germany
Francesca Finotello from Italy
Gretchen Blossem from the USA
Peggy Giacometti from France
Eva Arca from Spain
Sonia Nieto from Andorra
and
Jeannette Gabbi from Switzerland

It was a hard decision to make, because we would have liked to include all of the women, since each of you has brought imagination, commitment and passion to skiing and Speed Touring.

The Großvenediger is the fourth highest mountain in Austria, as well as being very popular with skiers and high-altitude touring fans. How it got its name remains a mystery. Someone once said you can make out the sea from the summit.  In 1841, Josef Schwab was the first climber to reach the peak, which was quite an achievement with the equipment of the time – when necessary, the men rubbed olive oil and gunpowder over their faces to protect their skin from burns!!!
Naturally, we’ll be asking nothing like that from our snow leopardesses, and we’ve already done our best to guarantee your wellbeing. Faithful to our "only the best for the best" motto, DYNAFIT will be supplying you with the finest possible equipment for your endeavor: each participant will receive a pair of Haute Route Plus Women skis, together with Gaia ski boots, TLT Vertical ST bindings and skins.
In the company of two alpine guides, you’ll be taking on an altitude difference of almost 2000 meters, starting out from Postalm, heading up to the Kürsinger Hütte and continuing along the Venedigerscharte on the way up to the summit. The route winds its way through a beautifully breathtaking, often truly sensational, frozen landscape. Physically, the tour is challenging, but in technical terms the route is not difficult. What this means is that you girls can channel all your energies into stepping on the accelerator! Have fun, girls, and speed up!

Success merits celebration, and that’s just what will await participants in the quiet little Postalm, where the Women Camp girls will be treated to a range of culinary specialties. We at DYNAFIT will be there to raise our classes to the conquest of the summit on the part of our snow leopardesses – and we must admit we’re curious to see which of you will have the staying power to last out and party on!

*(N.B. if we consider only the mountains entirely on Austrian soil, then it is the third highest in Austria).
