Finally some real skiing yesterday - 1400m of sluff management at the top to wet corn at the bottom. The climbing was a slog, 600m in three hours. Fixed lines have sprouted seemingly everywhere, it'll be like a jungle gym next week, but unfortunately many of the ropes are in the ski line so it'ts one more thing to jump over on the ski down. Never drank so much Tang (at every meal), Nescafe and Ovomaltine in my life. We're down from 61 porters (tip was 180,000 rupees) to just two very good cooks We're getting weather reports from Switz, Catalan and Germany - all the forecasts are for good weather after tomorrow so we plan one more night at camp one, then two at camp two, two rest days and then set up for a summit day. Rest day today and tomorrow, the tedium is little hard - world cup scores are the hottest info commodity in the camps. We'll need help trail breaking (parties starting from camp 3) for a successful bc-summit push, and good weather. It's an inshallah kind of place... Back to my tent and Lonesome Dove.
