Port-Ainé. December 17 th, 2011.

Marc Pinsach has managed second place in the Spanish Championship of Ski Mountaineering of Vertical Race, behind reigning world champion Kilian Jornet. Both have been involved in a great duel in the first half of the race. "We started very strong, but the wind and the pace of Kilian were really hard” commented Marc. From that moment, his efforts have concentrated to control Miguel Caballero, who has completed the podium.

In the women´s category, the first place is hold by MIREIA MIRÓ (Unión Excursionista de Cataluña) in 23 minutes 38 seconds followed by MARTA RIBA (Club Esquí La Pobla de SegurI and
MARÍA FRAGUAS (CE Pedalada.cat Balaguer).


The scene of the championships has been the third Cronoespot that this year has been renamed Vertical Ski-Pallars. Indeed, the race had to move to the Port-Ainé station due to snow conditions. The best specialists have turned up to event, which has been very successful with over 200 ski mountaineers. Finally, the route had 2,6 kilometers with 450 meter of positive slope.
Now comes time to recover, to return with fresh batteries. The next race for Marc will be in Austria, on 13 January. Next the timetable won’t leave time to rest.
