Snow Leopard Day

12/2/12

Ski Touring Event under the banner of the Snow Leopard

Its natural habitat is shrinking, the numbers of its enemies is rising. Snow leopard bones are sought-after for their supposed healing powers, while its soft fur is also coveted. The Snow Leopard Trust has been working since 1981 to protect existing populations, and also supports research into this endangered big cat. The DYNAFIT brand identifies with this graceful animal, and as partner in the project has set itself the task of providing long-term support for the snow leopard.
That's why DYNAFIT is once again organising a Snow Leopard Day – a 12-hour ski touring event for a very worthy cause. In 2012 the event will be held at a total of 8 locations across 7 different countries. The international Snow Leopard Day events will be held on various days through February/May 2012.
The object will be for participants to ascend as many metres of altitude as they can on touring skis in the space of 12 hours. DYNAFIT will then convert the distance into a cash donation to the Snow Leopard Trust. One cent for every metre of ascent!

An energy-rich and tasty midday snack for each ski mountaineer is included in the modest entrance fee.
And participants can relax that evening at a DYNAFIT get–together.

The first edition of the event held last year in the Austrian Praxmar region saw 184 participants raise a total of  €1,846 to help protect the snow leopard. Let´s exceed these figures!  No matter if you are a beginner, weekend ski mountaineer, or a ski racer – every metre counts!
Speed up!
